What is so special about the Randselva Bridge? It is a project with the world´s longest bridge built without drawings to date, as it was based solely on BIM models during both the design and execution. This innovative approach resulted in new experiences on how to conduct a model-based infrastructure project.

General project information

The Randselva Bridge (in Norwegian: Randselvabru) is a 634 m long cantilever concrete box girder bridge over the River Randselva in Norway, near the city of Hønefoss, around 50km northwest of the Norwegian capital Oslo. It is a part of the E16 highway, which goes through Norway into Sweden. The project comprised the bridge structure and 1,5 km of roads on both sides and opened in July 2022.
